Consultation has concluded
The Rotary Club of Mosman Park-Cottesloe in conjunction with the Mosman Park Youth Advisory Committee wrote to the Town on 3 August 2020 seeking support to advance a proposed 9-hole disc golf course south of Tom Perrott Reserve.
What is disc golf?
The game is much like traditional golf, but players use a disc or frisbee with the aim to get this in a basket/hole within the least amount of throws. It is a free, cheap and passive activity for people to enjoy the outdoors.
The proposed course could be set up in the passive space next to and south of Tom Perrott Reserve. It will be funded and maintained by the Rotary Club. All signage will look natural and compliment the nature space.
Parking will be at the Tom Perrott carpark and the footprint from noise will be similar to walkers, dog walkers and pedestrians.
Once the infrastructure has been installed, this is a free activity for the public.
Natural signage to keep with the natural space bordering Tom Perrott Reserve
The proposed area is a dog off-leash area. The course infrastructure has been laid out to avoid major dog walking areas. Disc golf etiquette is required to be upheld - players are to be mindful and aware of the wider public at all times while play is in progress. This etiquette will be included on the information sign at the first tee. The Town of Mosman Park will also have to assess the impact to wildlife from the increased activity here as this area supports the River to Sea wildlife corridor.
If our community are in support of this new initiative the Town would require that the necessary DBCA Development Control Area and WAPC approvals are obtained prior to any onsite activity.
We are now inviting you to have your say and share your thoughts on this proposal.
