Background

The Mosman Park Golf Club is situated at 2 Marshall Street, Mosman Park on an A Class Reserve. The Town manages the lease for the Golf Club, and the current lease is due to expire on 30 June 2022.

In late 2019, as part of its forward planning, the Golf Club sought direction from the Town on its future tenure. It is Council’s policy and practice – in keeping with good governance principles - to review all long term leases (15 years duration or longer). The Town committed to respond by 30 June 2020.

Current status

In May 2020, the Council endorsed an “in principle” 10-year lease agreement with the Mosman Park Golf Club (MPGC) from 1 July 2021, subject to a further report in June 2020 to finalise the draft Agreement.

Next steps

Earlier in 2020, when there was some community concern about the future use of the Golf Course, the Council committed to engage with the community as part of the Strategic Community Planning (SCP) process. The SCP community engagement process will occur during September and October, where issues such as future sustainability and public open space can be discussed. Please register to stay informed about the workshops and other opportunities to provide comment.
