The new Heritage Framework is now in effect!

The Town is pleased to announce the launch of our new Heritage Framework, now officially in effect.

This initiative reflects the invaluable feedback and ideas shared by our community, ensuring our heritage sites and cultural narratives are preserved for generations to come. A big thank you to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage for their assistance in funding the project.

What’s New?

Our Heritage Framework includes a new:

  • Local Heritage Survey (replaced the Town’s Municipal Inventory)
  • Heritage List; and
  • Local Planning Policy 34 – Management of Heritage Places.

We listened to your concerns and aspirations through the Strategic Community Plan 2021-2031 and are proud to implement changes that represent the community’s values.
