Help Shape the Future of Housing in Mosman Park
Housing is a national conversation right now, and local governments are being asked to play their part. In response to these challenges and following the council adoption of the 2026 Local Planning Strategy, the Town of Mosman Park is establishing the Mosman Park Housing Innovation Advisory Group (MPHIAG).
This new independent expert panel is designed to strengthen how we develop housing policy and facilitate supply at the local level.
About the MPHIAG
The MPHIAG is an advisory body of up to six subject matter experts who will work alongside the Town’s planning team for a defined two-year term. Modeled similarly to a Design Review Panel, the group will operate under a formal Terms of Reference and holds no statutory decision-making authority, with all formal planning decisions remaining the responsibility of Council.
The panel will play a key role in assisting the Town by:
Providing expert, practical advice on housing delivery, affordability, and diversity.
Testing new housing typologies and innovative policy approaches against real-world, market-deliverable conditions.
Assessing proposed Scheme amendments for Planning Areas identified for up-coding in the 2026 Local Planning Strategy.
Informing the Town's strategic response to the proposed Improvement Scheme/Plan for the Mosman Park and Victoria Street Stations.
Who We Are Looking For
The Town is seeking Expressions of Interest from industry leaders with demonstrated, hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
Urban Planning.
Architecture and Building Design.
Property Development and Residential Construction.
Social, Affordable, and Diverse Housing Delivery.
Note: While open to all qualified industry professionals, there is a strong preference for subject matter experts who reside within the Town of Mosman Park to ensure a deep understanding of local context and community aspirations.
Why Get Involved?
This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to shaping local housing policy at a critical time, ensuring that the Town's frameworks are progressive, viable, and capable of addressing Western Australia's housing supply needs without compromising on design quality or local amenity.
Expressions of interest close 5pm Thursday 13 August 2026.
