The Town is seeking your feedback on two amendment Local Laws:
(a) Local Government Property, Activities, and Trading in Thoroughfares and Public Places Amendment Local Law 2026
(b) Urban Environment and Nuisance Amendment Local Law 2026
Why are these being reviewed?
The Town of Mosman Park Urban Environment and Nuisance Local Law & Town of Mosman Park Local Government Property, Activities and Trading in Thoroughfares and Public Places Local Law 2025 were published in the Government Gazette in mid-June 2025. Following Gazettal, they were sent to the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation (JSCDL) for their review. In September 2025, the JSCDL wrote to the Town identifying several minor drafting errors in the Local Laws that required amending. The amendment process is actioned by way of an Undertaking, which requires the Town to create amendment Local Laws for public consultation, ultimately correcting the drafting errors.
At its Ordinary Council meeting on 25th November 2025, Council resolved to undertake the required public consultation for these two amendment local laws as per s3.12 of the Local Government Act 1995 for a six-week period (1 December 2025-12 January 2026).
