FAQs
What are consulting rooms?
The Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015 means the following "a premises used by no more than 2 health practitioners at the same time for the investigation or treatment of human injuries or ailments and for general outpatient care."
In practice these would be specialist medical practice, small scale dentist's, remedial physio, etc. If you are unsure please contact a planning officer at the Town.
Where does this policy apply?
The policy only applies to lots zoned as "residential" by the Town's Local Planning Scheme No. 3. Please go to the website (https://www.mosmanpark.wa.gov.au/build/planning-information/mapping/) or ask a planning officer at the Town.
Why is this policy being created?
The Minister for Planning recently endorsed Scheme Amendment 10 - which changed the land use permissibility for a 'X' (Not Permitted) to a 'A' (Permissible if consultation is undertaken and discretion applied). The policy will put in place some built form and location controls to minimise any amenity impact upon existing residential properties.
