Council Adopts Local Planning Policy – Sustainable Development (LPP39)
The Town of Mosman Park is pleased to announce that at the Council meeting on 27 November 2025, we adopted the Local Planning Policy – Sustainable Development (LPP39).
LPP39 provides guidance for embedding sustainable design throughout the life cycle of a development, including:
- Energy and water efficiency
- Prioritising solar electricity over fossil fuels
- Retention and planting of trees to grow our urban canopy and reduce the urban heat island effect
The Policy also introduces incentives to encourage sustainable development:
- Green-Track – faster approval for projects exceeding energy efficiency standards
- Green-Save – rewards for developments exceeding local greening or tree preservation requirements
This is a win for the Town, developers, and our community, helping Mosman Park become greener, cooler, and more sustainable for everyone.
