Update 02/10/2025 – Temporary Closure of Wellington Street (Westbound Lane) and car bay closure
We wish to inform you that, as part of the ongoing Mos Lane construction project, a temporary road closure will be in place on Wellington Street (westbound lane) from Monday 6 - Friday 10 October 2025, between the hours of 7am and 7pm daily.
This closure is necessary to facilitate the relocation of bus stop #19660 from Manning Street to Wellington Street for the duration of the construction period. The relocated bus stop will be constructed in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), the Public Transport Authority’s accessibility guidelines, and relevant Australian Standards such as AS1428 – Design for Access and Mobility, to ensure it meets the needs of all users.
To accommodate the relocation, three existing parking bays on Wellington Street will be removed. We understand that changes to parking availability can be challenging. The need to remove these bays has been carefully reviewed and was necessary to ensure compliance with minimum clearance requirements for bus stop design, including sightlines and safe pedestrian access.
The remaining parking bays on Wellington Street will be accessible during the relocation works. Please note that vehicles will need to travel eastbound and perform a U-turn to access the diagonal bays in front of the shops, as the westbound lane will be blocked near the roundabout.
Traffic management measures will be in place in accordance with the approved Traffic Management Plan and Main Roads WA Code of Practice and AS1742 – Traffic Control Devices. Traffic controllers will be on-site to assist pedestrians and residents, ensuring safe access across the road and minimal disruption to daily activities.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Where you have enquiries or concerns relating to the works please direct all initial questions to the builder:
