The Town of Mosman Park contains some of Perth’s older residential areas. Whilst this means we have a rich historical character to many of our streets, we also have a number of legacy laneways that may not meet today’s standards of vehicle manoeuvrability.

The Town’s Local Planning Policy 04 – Laneway Vision & Development Standards & Subdivision Requirements for Lots Adjoining Laneways (LPP04) identify a number of ‘unclassified’ laneways within the Town. These unclassified laneways have significant constraints with respect to vehicle manoeuvrability, egress and ingress and vehicle congestion etc. The issues surrounding these unclassified laneways will need to be resolved with further consultation undertaken with the community in order to understand the specific issues surrounding each unclassified laneway.

The laneways will be independently assessed by specialist consultants, in close consultation with adjoining landowners and surrounding residents, by looking at:

  • How laneways are utilised
  • Level of use and congestion
  • Vehicle manoeuvrability
  • Entry and egress from the lanes
  • Opportunities for refuge (‘pull in’ areas) to allow vehicles to pass
  • Other considerations affecting the performance of the laneway

The Town of Mosman Park has engaged LK Advisory to conduct the independent assessment of Hollamby Lane and provide specialist advice as to its performance and opportunities for improvement.

One of the first laneways to be assessed is Hollamby Lane.
