Overall community told us that they would like something more suitable for the 3-5 year old age group, and all three of the options cater for this. The two traditional concepts both have included 'activity centre' type panelling at the lower height of the playground to keep little hands engaged, whilst the older kids can still climb and slide.
one has a neutral colour scheme, a covered stand alone activity space for very young children and also kept a sand space with soft fall surface.
one has a bright colour scheme, an open sand table activity space for very young children and also kept a sand space with soft fall surface.
Nature playground concept - 54% of the feedback had a preference for nature based playgrounds, whilst the remaining 46% opted for traditional. We have prepared a nature play design that fits with the $50,000 budget, however it has minimal features due to the cost associated with this type of playground. We still wanted to give you the option, however the nature playground with this budget is very much suited to younger children and can't be as interactive as a traditional option.
We heard you wanted to keep a traditional swing set - we have included this in all of the options.
We heard you wanted to keep the basketball court - we will be refurbishing this in-house part of stage two and shortly after the playground is built.
Currently the passive park contains and will continue to keep:
Basketball half court
Playground or nature playground with shade shelter
BBQ
Picnic tables
Benches
Swings
Works are expected to start taking part in Autumn 2022.
Tell us what you think of the three design concepts below.

Installation
this is an upcoming stage for Stringfellow's park playground upgrade
After we have together finalised the ideal park design with community, based on contractor availability, weather conditions and procurement, it is anticipated that works will commence in Autumn 2022.
This will include the decommissioning of the existing playground and construction of the new space.
