Notice of Adoption of Local Planning Policy 21 – Wellington Village Precinct: Context and Character

Please be advised that the Council of the Town of Mosman Park, at its meeting held on 23 November 2021, adopted Local Planning Policy No. 21 – Wellington Village Precinct: Context and Character.

You can download a copy of the minutes of the 23 November 2021 Ordinary Council Meeting here.

UPDATE: MONDAY, 15 NOVEMBER 2021


All comments received on the draft policy have been considered and now a revised version of the policy will be presented to this month's round of Council meetings. The revised policy and council report outlining the changes can be viewed at the below link. A copy of the revised policy is also available on the right hand side of this page under 'Document Library'.

The Agenda Forum will be held in the Council Chambers at 6pm on Tuesday, 16 November 2021. The meeting allows elected members to discuss items in a public forum and leads to effective decision making. The meeting provides a chance for elected members to request additional information and clarification. Formal decisions are not made at this forum. Members of the public are invited to attend and ask questions.


The Ordinary Meeting of Council will be held in the Council Chambers at 6pm on Tuesday, 23 November 2021. This is where Council will make a decision on the policy.

The Town of Mosman Park has prepared and adopted for the purposes of advertising a draft Local Planning Policy focusing around the Wellington Village Precinct. This draft policy is based on the recent survey and other character studies undertaken by the Town in August 2021. The feedback gathered during this consultation process has directly influenced the creation of the draft Local Planning Policy No. 21 ‘Wellington Village Precinct: Context and Character’ (draft Local Planning Policy No.21).

The Town of Mosman Park is now inviting your comments on the draft Local Planning Policy No. 21.

Where can I have my say and review the Local Planning Policy?

A copy of the draft Local Planning Policy No.21, Local Character Study and Wellington Village Precinct Boundary Map can be accessed via the right hand links on the page.

To submit your feedback, please click the ‘Have Your Say Here’ tab just further down the page and register.

All feedback is to be submitted by MONDAY 11 OCTOBER 2021.


Community Information Session

A Community Information Session will be held by appointment only on MONDAY 4 OCTOBER 2021 FROM 4:00PM - 6:00PM at the Town of Mosman Park’s Council Lounge during which Planning Officers will be able to assist with general enquiries on the draft Local Planning Policy No. 21.

Please be advised that the Community Information Session is strictly appointment-based and a group up to a maximum of 4 people can be made to see a Planning Officer. A 20 minute session will be allocated to each group or individual. Confirmed appointments to the Community Information Session are essential to attend. Those without confirmed appointments on the day may be turned away to facilitate those who have made appointments.

Thank you for your input, the survey has now closed. We had a fantastic response rate with 74 surveys completed.

Based on your input through the survey and other character studies undertaken by the Town, draft Local Planning Policy – ‘Wellington Village Precinct: Context and Character’ is being prepared.

The draft policy will be presented to Council at the 2 September Special Council Meeting with a recommendation that the policy is advertised for public comment for 21 days. We will be asking for your feedback on the draft policy, to ensure the policy reflects the comments you have provided through the surveys.

The Special Council Meeting report and draft policy will be available at the below link from Tuesday, 31 August 2021. After the meeting, if public advertising of the policy is supported by Council, the draft policy and council report will be uploaded to this page.

By completing a short survey, your valued feedback will take us a step closer to enhance the future character of the precinct and contribute to the development of Local Planning Policy – ‘Wellington Village Precinct: Context and Character’.
