Proposed Temporary Site Office on Vacant Lot
We are seeking community feedback on a proposal to temporarily utilise the vacant lot located opposite the project site for the establishment of a site office. This proposal is currently under assessment by the Town of Mosman Park and the Department of Communities.
Details of the proposal are as follows:
1. The proposed works consists of the temporary placement of mobile structures on site which include:
- Four ablution blocks.
- Four lunchrooms.
- One meeting room.
- One site office.
- One first aid shed.
- One mobile bakery.
- Future subcontractor office space.
2. The applicant is seeking approval for temporary use for an initial 12-month period during works for the Mos Lane Project. This request may be reapplied prior to the expiry of the 12-month period and approval sought for the remaining duration of construction works at Mos Lane.
The installation would remain in place only for the duration of the project and would be fully dismantled and removed upon completion.
Considerations for the Local Community
Noise and Disturbance
While some general noise may occur during worker arrival and lunch breaks, all tradespersons will be instructed to minimise disruption and respect the surrounding neighbourhood. No construction equipment or machinery will be operated on the lot, and most activity will be contained within the site sheds.
Privacy
All site sheds and toilet units will be single-stacked, ensuring no overlooking into neighbouring properties. The sheds will be positioned around the perimeter of the lot, and roofing will be installed between units to maintain the privacy of adjacent residents.
Traffic and Parking
Due to space limitations, the lot will not be used for parking. Deliveries will be limited to essential items such as office, toilet, and cleaning supplies. All trade parking will continue to occur at Tom Perrot Reserve, in accordance with the approved Construction Management Plan (CMP).
Visual and Environmental Impact
The proposed set-up is temporary and will be removed at the conclusion of the project. It is anticipated that this arrangement will be visually less intrusive than placing double-stacked sheds along Manning Street, as the proposed layout keeps the structures discreetly positioned within the lot.
Alternative Locations Considered
Other potential locations have been assessed but are not feasible. The vacant lot represents the most practical and least disruptive option for the
temporary site office.
