We're freshening up the skate area at Mann Oval - tell us what you think!
Mann Oval currently has a small skate bowl and basketball court (which will also be part of the renewal). While these facilities are much-loved by our community, they no longer meet current expectations for a modern, skate and basketball court space.
The proposed renewal includes:
new skatepark features
new basketball court
new parkfurniture such as seating
This skate area is proposed to be designed with beginner riders in mind, offering a welcoming space for skatersto learn and build confidence.
We want to hear from the community early to:
understand how people currently use the area
identify opportunities and concerns related to the skatepark
make the right decision for design
make sure the skatepark fits well with other oval uses.
What's the budget, and what does it mean for this project?
The Town has allocated approximately $150,000 for this project from our Capital Works Budget, covering design, demolition, drainage infrastructure, skate features, basketball court and park furniture.It's a genuine investment, but it's worth being upfront about what it can and can't buy.
We wanted to share this context now, before you take the survey, so that community expectations are grounded in what's realistically achievable. Our aim within this limited budget and space is to create a skatepark with beginner riders in mind.

Contributions to this consultation are now closed and are being reviewed. The project team will include community feedback in the design brief to guide the design of the skatepark. Once Tender submissions have been received (estimated mid-January 2027) the community will then have another chance to have their say on the concept design.
Awarding of contract

Once all feedback has been reviewed and any amendments made to the design, the Town will award the works to a contractor.
