Help shape our arts framework

We are developing a framework to guide the installation of public art within the Town. This includes outlining the curatorial themes, recognising the history of art in the Town, and establishing mechanisms to require developers to provide community art.

We need your help.

An arts framework requires a lot of pieces moving in tandem, and these pieces are guided by our community. We have proposed a number of actions within our Arts Strategy, and have written two supporting policies.

We would love your feedback on the actions proposed, as well as any input that you have on our policies.

You can respond to these documents using the survey linked below (approximately 10 minute completion time).

Where should public art be located in the Town?

One of the most important things we would like to know is where we should locate our public art. The link below will take you to a map where you can drop 'pins' to identify your preferred art locations (it can also be accessed from the 'Places' heading at the bottom of the page). You can put more than one pin in the map and we will use this information to create designated preferred art installation areas.

There is a lot of information here, where do I start?

Much of the survey refers to content in the draft strategy so be sure to please have a look at the key documents section of this page (on the right) to get yourself acquainted with the proposed actions and what they mean before you complete the survey.

Once you have reviewed the Strategy and the two associated Policies please proceed to the survey. Although there are a number of questions in the survey you are free to choose which questions you would like to answer based on what you think is most important to you.

The survey will cover the following items:

1. The actions of the Strategy and whether you support them.

2. Any comments that you have on the proposed Council Policy.

3. Any comments that you have on the proposed Local Planning Policy.

4. The Towns intent to establish an art panel and whether this should be a paid position, and who should sit on the panel.

To help frame your answers and understand the content of the survey we have included a copy of the survey questions in the documents tab on the right if you would like to review them prior to responding to them.

Please make sure you drop some pins on our map as well so that we can designate areas where art should be placed!

How can I get more information on what is proposed?

If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Town’s Community Enrichment Team on 9383 6600 or via email to admin@mosmanpark.wa.gov.au including the subject line heading ‘Arts Strategy Comment/Query’.

Consultation is open to the 8th of July and we would love to hear from you!
