The demolition of the existing shopping centre and construction of a new, five-storey mixed-use development was approved by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) on 10 August 2023.

At this time the Town has not been advised of a meeting date for determination of the application and all information rests with the SDAU.In relation to recent questions raised, the Town provides the following informaiton:
1. The Town has not signed any part of the application as a landowner in relation to works within the public realm (verge). It's current position is as per the information contained within Local Planning Policy No. 21 - Wellington Village: Context and Character.
2. The Town is providing responses on the proposal when requested to do so by the SDAU as part of its fulfilment of its regulatory referral role.
3. The Town will be provided with 5 days' notice of the date for the meeting where this proposal is due to be determined. The CEP will review and approve the ToMP deputation as an operational matter with respect to the Town performing its role under delegation to respond to an external agency.

The proposed development is being assessed by the State Development Assessment Unit (SDAU) of the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) under the temporary significant development pathway for proposals valued at more than $20 million.
It will be determined by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC).
Public consultation is being undertaken by DPLH and all submissions should be made using the following link. This will ensure your important feedback is captured and recorded:The Town of Mosman Park is a referral agency for this development application and, as part of the assessment process, the Town has been asked to provide technical feedback on the proposal. Council will be provided the opportunity to comment on the proposed development.
