Background and context
The Town of Mosman Park is embarking on a new and exciting project to develop a plan for the Mosman Park Town Centre, and we need your help!
Since 2017, the Town have been working on plans to revitalise the town centre. A lot has changed in our Town since then and we understand the need to implement a plan that reflects the needs of the whole Town.
A major consideration for the Mosman Park Town Centre Precinct Structure Plan, will be creating a framework that enables change to meet the future population, whilst respecting the local character of the Town Centre that is so highly valued by the community.
Summary of Historical Timeline
The Town has been progressing revitalisation of Mosman Park Village (previously known as the Town Centre) since 2017. The timeline below provides a brief insight on what has occurred since inception of the project. A detailed account of events occurred since 2017 is available in the left margin under documents.

Council decides not to allocate additional funding
Share Council decides not to allocate additional funding on Facebook Share Council decides not to allocate additional funding on Twitter Share Council decides not to allocate additional funding on Linkedin Email Council decides not to allocate additional funding linkAt the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 24 September 2024, Council decided not to allocate additional funding for further studies related to the Precinct Structure Plan (PSP). These studies were intended to meet the State Government's pre-requisite requirements for incorporating a mandatory community benefits framework into the draft PSP.
As a result, the draft PSP will move forward without a compulsory community benefits component. However, the Town will use Local Planning Policy 32 - Community Benefits Contributions to work with developers in negotiating community benefits.
Once the State Government formalises its position on community benefit frameworks, the Council will review the PSP to assess the potential value of including mandatory community benefits, the required information, and associated costs.

Update July 2024
Share Update July 2024 on Facebook Share Update July 2024 on Twitter Share Update July 2024 on Linkedin Email Update July 2024 linkThe Town is in the process of engaging a consultant to develop a Streetscape Masterplan for Glyde Street. This project has been highlighted as a top priority in the draft Precinct Structure Plan (PSP). We are eager to enhance and activate our main street in the Mosman Park Village.
The Streetscape Masterplan will identify opportunities within Glyde Street to provide streetscape updates which would likely include new landscaping and trees, potential traffic calming, pedestrian focussed gathering areas, as well as identifying the type and location of streetscape improvements such as lighting, seating, and amenities.
Importantly the plan will identify the associated costs involved in making these upgrades and identify the priorities and opportunities associated with developer contributions to fund the upgrades.
Once we have appointed a consultant, we will be reaching out to you so that you can have your say on priorities and how you wish to see this focal point for the Village Centre upgraded and enhanced.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward with this exciting initiative.

These reports offer valuable insights into our collective efforts and the impact we've made together.
In addition to sharing these reports with you, we would also like to advise that the draft Mosman Park Village Precinct Structure Plan and pre-requisite documents are currently under review by staff at the town and in final stages of development. We are currently liaising with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage to ensure that as the final approval Authority, the work that the Town and its consultant are doing, aligns succinctly with the State Planning Framework and associated guidance. We look forward to sharing more soon.

Update April 2023: Community Reference Group Established + Have Your Say
Share Update April 2023: Community Reference Group Established + Have Your Say on Facebook Share Update April 2023: Community Reference Group Established + Have Your Say on Twitter Share Update April 2023: Community Reference Group Established + Have Your Say on Linkedin Email Update April 2023: Community Reference Group Established + Have Your Say linkIn April 2023, the Town established a Community Reference Group for the project. The role of the Community Reference Group was to:
- Support development of principles that will be used to inform the draft Mosman Park Town Centre Precinct Structure Plan.
- Represent the broader community of Mosman Park.
Over two full day workshops, the Community Reference Group were asked to consider the following challenge:
‘If development is already happening, and the Town is expected to support additional dwellings, how can we work together to make future development occur in a way that makes our town center a better place for our existing and future community?’
The Community Reference Group responded to this challenge by developing ‘Design Principles’.
The Town are now inviting you to have your say and provide your feedback by completing the survey below. Submission open Thursday 6 July 2023 and close on Sunday 30 July 2023.
